Background Score of Life, Very Filmy!!!

Pleasant Winter mornings are too filmy, I would say. I am never left short of imagining a filmy sequence when the weather gets this better.
And so did today! And since I have this revived blog with not much of followers, I thought could write anything that I felt about all these. And to my creative ingenuity, I have this brilliant(?) idea. Songs that were background music to major events in life.

Right Now In my brains!!!
My bus stop is an isolated cool place. And its quite rare there is someone waiting for a bus after 6 pm unlike me. And as I stand there alone, covered up in my jacket, enjoying the "cigarette devoid smoke" from my mouth until my bus No.124 approaches, I sing this loud, in fact very loud. Insanity? No, I bet you would also have sung this very loud at some point of your life. After all this is a song which any bad singer can try for the rhythm playing at the back of your mind will never get you wrong.

Label: Anytime song

A singer at home: The Husband!
I always wanted to marry someone who can sing! And so did the crush attack many from Sonu Nigam to Emon Chaterjee, Hariharan to Jagjit Singh, Shreya Ghoshal to...Gosh! How did this come in? I am straight!!!I swear:)
Lets get back to the story; And then I marry without knowing that the husband sings(if not great!). Eureka!!! I shouted silently( what an oxymoron) when I discovered that he sings finally. It was pleasant to hear him sing 'Neeraduvan' and 'Sagarangale'!!! But of all, I really like it when you sing this for me!!Another major addition to the background score

Label: Love, Romance :)

Unni Achan: The Real Singer

If wanting a singer husband was a wish, getting a Father In law who sings was a true Bonus! I just love the days when I stayed with him and listening to those wonderful yester year songs. Though not your genre, this one which you sang for Adi and Anu, and for me, will play through my life. Its a sheer happy song to me.

Label: Happiness

The USA: An English song.
I had a couple of Bryan Adams songs, one each of Shakira and Backstreet Boys and may be just a few others in my regular playlist until April 2011. And then I come to USA. It was all Bruce Springsteen and Roger Waters music around me. I try to be a Roman when in Rome too. And I decide to try listening to English songs. I randomly search on the Husband's Facebook wall for song posts and stumbles upon this one.

Ever since, this one with an unexplainable charm has been the background score for my cooking, reading and all what I did during those idle days at home.
Label: Mysterious Charm

The Indian Wedding: Music grandeur!!
Amidst all the confusions and craziness of wedding, we had some very filmy moments in January this year. Days were so fun filled that I can choose any happy song despite language barriers for the background. But I pick this one one out rightly. The reason being a coy Groom( our dear cousin, Maneesh, who got married a couple of days before me) sang this at our family get together. So I think of my wedding days and this lovely number starts playing.

Label: Wedding, Malayalam music

Middle East: All Waka Waka!!!
With no doubts or second thought I write this. My stay in DXB for roughly 2 years and the Football World cup in 2010.Out of all I so love the days when my road trips were made cheerful with Waka Waka. Its some adrenalin rush that the music brings and how I manage a virtual trip to UAE with just this music is still a mystery to me. Not to forget, I confuse the lyrics with all the parody of the song too.

Label: Cheerfulness

Adi: The one you love!
Of all the Arabic, English(nursery rhymes), Hindi and Pakistani songs that he sang, I love this the best."Pichakapoon". So this essentially pulls me back to those sunny Fridays when we kept requesting you to sing this "Mohanlal" song for the lovely words you would get for it and hugging you tight!!

Label: Fun.

Nitte Life : And Kannada song

MBA days had this touch of Kannada-ism to it. From food to language, to culture and everything. And so did the background score. Those were the days when Mungaru Male released and doubts apart that added colours to life even when I wrote assignments on Accounts! Hear a bit of it, even now, I might rather talk to you in Kannada!

Label: Influence

Looks like its getting a bit longer this way and I just realise that I have lived almost 26 years of life with Background score. Too much to put down on a blog entry. But before, I stop, the one factor who I believe is the source behind adding this background music to life.

Amma: The Romantic

I believe, its her who have added this musical charm to life. The amazing array of songs that she sings for me from Childhood to Teens, to now. Hard to pick one when it comes to this. But I simply loved my youth when she narrated stories of Vasavadatta from Karuna, to me and implicitly made me dwell on the beautiful, romantic world outside. I wish this one plays as a background ever in life.
I wonder what background music you had when you carried me in your womb?!!!?

Label: Amma.

Entertainer, Without Flaw! Dirty picture to me:)

I am an 80's kid too. The one deprived of watching a "Silk Smitha" movie at an age when she conquered hearts.(?) Neverthless, I was too small to classify her into any brackets then. Just two popular Malayalam songs, "Olangale" and "Puzhayorath" featuring her and reading bits and pieces of news about her death as a 10 year old is all what I remember.

My curiosity for 'The Dirty Picture' was quite natural. Vidhya Balan, Nasseruddin Shah, A real life story, and all the media praises to follow. Contrary to usual, Murphy dint strike back and I managed to get into a Regal Cinema's on a Sunday evening( Just 3rd day of the movie release).

I had my presumption about how the story would progress. An aspiring actor/dancer, days of struggle, followed by stardom, and then getting lost in the doom of it, to see a downfall!! Humm, I am pretty impressed the way I conceived the story!
But, what makes me write it down is a few performances and the audacity the makers had. And that makes the movie worth the attention it demands. Not to disregard the ENTERTAINMENT^3 factor:)

A quick word on the show stoppers according to me.
Vidhya Balan: Versatile. A Vidhya show it is majorly. The very fact that a so called main stream artist ventured into being Silk is appreciable to me. All the variations the character demands is well portrayed. Most convincing being, the final few scenes of wanting to be loved and losing herself in drugs. I would give Vidhya a 4 on 5 and also think its a sure National award Nominee performance.

Imran Hasmi : Actor. " All your pictures need not be dirty, Mr Imran" . A very impressive performance, by the serial kisser. I am sure the actor in you comes out when the script demands it. And you dint fail to impress the umpteen "Bollywood" fans. Thanks to "Ishq Sufiyana".

Apart from this, I feel it was
A safe attempt
Good Choice of Actors
Commercial Element right in measure
Carefully scripted with apt/smart dialogues.
And an Entertainer, without flaw!

Dirty picture on an average deserves not less than a 4 star!!!!

Eventlessness!!!

I have hated a question off late. And thats, "What you upto?" I am upto nothing for Gods sake. I do nothing and my days are totally event less. Well, does that satisfy you?
If not, I have something to say. If trying out a Biriyani, I mean preparing one at home or watching a movie could be called major events, then I have, on the contrary, an eventful life. And to be candid, even though, Bloggers( of all kind) takes an oath of "no plagiarism"; I am cheating on the rule to make my life look eventful.
I blog on getting up late on a Saturday morning, try to be creative about the ray of light that peeped through my window, manage to get a picture of my book pile on the corner table possibly with a Bhuddha on it and a Garam cup of Chai. Perfect what a life!!!
Really?
I am sure we could debate on it. But for now, thats how life is and I have decided to make it look eventful this way round. And so goes this one and many to come from now...
A hot cup of coffee, Some Oo La la Music, Some spicy biriyani, a hot water shower, some wonderful Othello adaptation on screen, a cat nap and again some O la la...
Life's all perfect to me!!!!
